BANKRUPTCY SETTLEMENT Q AND A 6-1-18 final
This case has been hard-fought since January 2015, and has included over 300 abuse lawsuits commenced against 100 parishes. The link below contains JAA’s media alert. The settlement we reached (with your help) is $210 million, with the parish contribution (parishes and parish insurance combined) being $23M of that. It is a big day for us all! The ASPM and UCC will be filing a consensual plan with the Bankruptcy Court shortly. Thanks to all parishes and parish counsel for your support and patience throughout this long process!
