Dear People Whom God Loves,
I want to thank all of you for the time, energy, presence, and money that you have contributed to St.Stans.
The graph in this bulletin is a guideline to help you make a decision about your financial contribution to our parish. You have to decide what is appropriate for you. Also remember that if you are able to give little or no financial help, you are just as welcome here in our parish. Your presence of itself is a major contribution.
Finally, in what I see as my final ten years at St. Stans, I have a vision of what I would like St. Stans to be like at the end of that time. Our parish pastoral council is already looking at this. We will be seeking input from all of our committees, staff, and volunteers. Everyone who comes to St. Stans will have the opportunity to offer their comments and suggestions. You are welcome to do this whether or not you are a registered member.
This will not be just my vision but the vision that results from the participation of everyone.
I will be keeping you informed as we proceed.
The heart of my thinking is this: “The mission has a church.” That means to me that our church is not an end in itself. Its purpose is to live and proclaim the mission that Jesus gave us. That mission is to carry on the life and teaching of Jesus.
